Ways to Get Involved this Summer

Hey folks! We are gearing up for a crazy good summer! We are so stoked for all of the amazing things happening to help develop the families and communities we love here in Souboy, Haiti. When we were just home, we had a lot of people asking us some specifics about how they could get involved and what they could do to help in specific ways. Because Ryan and I are always on the go, we didn’t have a chance to explain everything to the best of our abilities. :) We have a lot of ways for YOU to get involved in our Haiti ministry while you are enjoying your summer, too. (We value financial integrity and have financial reports available for years past, as well.)

Children’s Program: We currently have 100 children who come to our ministry house every week! Thanks to a few generous donors, we have built an outdoor gazebo which will serve as our new after-school care structure for these precious kiddos. We are currently accepting sponsors for our children’s program at $20/month (or a one-time gift). This sponsorship provides food/activities for the kids during after school care and helps them go to school, as well. If you have any questions, please comment below or email srobinson495@gmail.com. The impact our Haitian staff have made on these little ones over the course of a year is insane, and we are so thankful for the change we see in these kids- as they have become respectful, responsible children!

Justice Water: We are continuing to provide clean water and training to people in Haiti with Justice Water. We have a few specific needs for that- including a financial sponsorship for two motorcycles (we have finances for two already) and ongoing project expenses. There are a few ways to get involved with this, including one coming in September, Ride For Refuge. If you are a Canadian resident, Jenessa, one of our old staff members is leading this out. If you are an American and wish to participate, please let us know at info@konbithaiti.org. To learn more about Ride for Refuge, check it out here: https://canada.rideforrefuge.org/home. This is a great way to get active for a good cause!

Sponsor an Acre: We are currently in the final processes of our non-profit application here in Haiti. After that, our goal is to purchase some land for farming and training. One way for you, your organization or church to get involved is to participate in our Sponsor an Acre campaign. When our community court is built, you, your church or your organization will be commemorated on the court! If you are interested in this, please contact Ryan at ryanrobinson@gmail.com.

Purchase a product made in Haiti: One way to support some of our staff and friends in Haiti is to purchase one of our handmade or hand grown products. We are currently selling porch pillows with recycled rice bags, coffee and moringa superfood powder. If you are interested in purchase, please email info@konbithaiti.org.

Ongoing Support: We have many ongoing outreaches here with Konbit. If your heart is stirred to simply support what we are doing here, we would greatly appreciate that. :) We have a women’s sewing co-op which needs our support, farm projects, staff support, annual seminars, truck maintenance and emergency expenses we always have a need for- so please feel free! www.kobithaiti.org

As always, all donations are tax-deductible through our website/mailing address through Konbit Haiti or Justice Water.

We welcome anyone who wishes to have a run, a fundraising night or a concert for Konbit Haiti, as well. We are SO thankful for our community of support, our board and our friends who so selflessly support us in Haiti. God has really used Konbit Haiti the past year in many crazy ways and it is our hope that we will continue to be used for good things here in this community and beyond.

Bondye beni nou anpil! :)
