While it is only June 7, we have so much to update you all on! The summer is always an exciting time for us personally and in ministry. This June, Ryan is going to be in Haiti and I (Steph) am going back and forth. I am happy to report that my first trip went really well. My personal health was much better, and I was impressed by the way Konbit Haiti is taking off in our area.
This month is one of transition: transitioning from spring time to full-blown summer mode, for one. School is about to be out for the children in our area and for our family director, as well. July camp is gearing up, as well. In the midst of all of this, we are in the middle of beginning the purchase of land and potentially our current Konbit headquarters. Our Justice Water guys are putting in a lot of work for latrine projects in the St. Marc, Haiti, area and we are all in awe of how much is happening! Please pray that we continue to have wisdom to move forward with all of these plans- in the right way, in the right timing, and with the right partners. We could not do any of this (obviously) without our friends and partners in Haiti!
Our pavilion space has turned into a communal gathering area for many days of the week and we are currently trying to secure funding to do a large-scale latrine on site. It has brought me so much joy to see the way the community utilizes this space- for everything from dance practice to Bible study run by a local pastor to our huge kids’ program. Needless to say, this has been a great time of growth and the results are showing us consistently how important it be that Konbit Haiti is a place that does not only work with Haitians but whose programs are greatly influenced and run by Haitians.
Thank you for your love for us and our ministry. We are seriously so thankful. :) Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to gear up for the summer months!
